RECLAIMED
This series is dedicated to the statues in the Toronto’s Tommy Thompson Park and the people who made them and continue to do so .. the homeless, the art enthusiasts, the kids and everyone else who put their hands and minds into it.
The park is a men-made peninsula in the Lake Ontario, in the city of Toronto. Although its inner space has natural look, and is also a protected wildlife area, some parts of the shoreline still show the evidence of the foundation this nature reserve grew on: The concrete slabs with iron bars sticking out, the building blocks and the washed-up bricks of different colours, the beach glass, etc.. They are city’s demolition waste used by “beach artists” for their creations.
